Rukshan de Silva

Originally from Canada, Rukshan has travelled the globe working as an urban planner in public and private sectors, including in Australia. He has worked in Peru as a volunteer planner helping remote rural communities to create land-use plans that support the growth of their economies and is a passionate advocate for building the capacity of communities to manage their own development.

Rukshan is currently employed as a principal planner with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. Earlier this year, he was named as the Australian Young Planner of the Year at the National Planning Awards.
